On Tuesday, May 7, students from our ReAction Youth Education Program will be headed to Albany on a field trip to see state government in action! They’ll get a chance to meet with legislators and share their experiences about gun violence.

These high school students–from New York City communities such as Crown Heights,  Jamaica, and the Bronx–will also be able to apply the public speaking and organizational skills they’ve learned in the Program.

Students will:

  • Meet with state lawmakers from their districts and share their stories about how gun violence impacts them and their communities.
  • Connect with other youth leaders from New York communities including Buffalo, Staten Island, Long Island, Hudson Valley, and Albany.
  • Participate in a press conference with lawmakers.
